I detected the smell of rancid grease burning late last night in the hood. Thought the old lady was just giving herself a bikini wax. Oh well, on to Patel and Juan for eats now.
Bon' Apatite!

I wonder what time THAT fire came in?

I'm sure all the off duty CFD guys came running to help, followed by a few "bro hugs".

Probably went bankrupt trying to keep Shaved well fed!

Since they burn all the food I ordered there, they might as well burn the whole place too.

hope they re-build nice bathroooms and buy new booths.

The term is Greek Lightning for suspicious restaurant fires.

The fire started in an exhaust fan in the rear area of the restaurant, according to OFI on the scene.

Retired Detective N.M. was almost a daily feature at The Magic through his career. He was always good for a few chuckles although his humor often bordered on prejudice, but who cares.

The owner, Bill, said he hopes to reopen in a few weeks.

An old partner used to say, "another successful fire."

Folo's was nowhere near Mt. Greenwood. Believe that was in Chicago Ridge. Yeah, no more Unicorn restaurant. Back in the 80s, it was either The Regal (Magic) or Unicorn. Both, well, all three, gone now. Sad. No more greasy spoon for breakfast in Mt. Greenwood. There's Niko's Breakfast Club in Oak Lawn near Quigley's on 111th and Pulaski. Hopefully they'll remodel Magic. There was one older lady working there with big hooters that was really nice.

The "MAGIC" will re-open as "Harolds #111th".

What's left in Downtown Mt. Greenwood???

Hillbilly's and the section 8 niggers that the cops and firemen rented to, after they moved the hell out.

and to think Magic was supposed to be broadcasted on Check please on channel 11.

Anonymous said...

That's too bad, because Magic was supposed to be featured next week on Check Please. It's shown on WTTW channel 11

I believe that was the original Wonder Burger that is across the street now. My old partner to this day calls it "Murder Burger".

Wonder Burger was right next to the alley. The rerstaurasnt was right at the corner of 111th and Kedzie. I think it had two letters in its name like L & J or something.
